{"id":13341,"date":"2025-06-27T15:37:04","date_gmt":"2025-06-27T10:07:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecatalystonline.com\/?p=13341"},"modified":"2025-06-27T15:37:04","modified_gmt":"2025-06-27T10:07:04","slug":"core-scientific-attracts-new-interest-from-coreweave","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/catalyst2.paperboats.in\/?p=13341","title":{"rendered":"Core Scientific attracts new interest from CoreWeave"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thecatalystonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Featured-Image-Edits-2025-06-27T152403.272-1024x683.png\" alt=\"core , coreweave , bitcoin , miner , after , its , scientific \" class=\"wp-image-13371\" style=\"width:339px;height:auto\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Image Credit: Reuters<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coreweave.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"CoreWeave\">CoreWeave<\/a>\u00a0is in talks to buy Core Scientific, after the <a href=\"https:\/\/thecatalystonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/crypto-bitcoin-Web3.webp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"crypto-bitcoin-Web3\">bitcoin<\/a> miner rejected an earlier deal from the cloud provider last year, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shares of Core Scientific rose about 8% after the report, giving the company a market value of nearly $4 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crypto miners use vast amounts of electricity to run their operations and are being increasingly targeted by bigger peers and AI technology companies, as they try to consolidate power supply for their energy-hungry enterprises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A deal could be finalized in the coming weeks, if talks don&#8217;t face setbacks, the report said, adding that exact terms being discussed could not be learned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Core Scientific did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
